This past Saturday, partners Bill Askin and Todd Hooker teamed up with Pop Askin and Realtor of the Year,  Dan Corrigan from RE/MAX in Sparta to support an excellent cause. The 14th Annual United Way Chili Open Golf Classic drew in participants from all over the county for a cold and competitive round of golf at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, NJ.

The annual event raises money for The United Way of Northern New Jersey’s  ALICE® (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) Program. The funds raised will support the 12,000 vulnerable ALICE families in our community who live in the precarious situation of not being able to afford basic necessities. Community involvement in the program helps to remove the barriers that keep these hardworking friends and neighbors from achieving their potential.

“This is our third year participating in the Chili Open, and we are honored to be here to help raise money for and to celebrate all of the individuals who work so incredibly hard each and every day for their families, but still need something extra to get through the week, ” said Todd Hooker.

The United Way of Northern New Jersey estimates that the event raised over $30,000.  Bill Askin stated: “Serving the community is part of the core values of our firm, and we think Sussex County is a pretty special place. We wouldn’t dream of missing the Chili Open, and we already look forward to next year’s event.”
